The largest Brazilian public company in terms of both revenues and earnings is Petrobras SA. Itau Unibanco Holding SA was momentarily more valuable than Petrobras but the oil company has once again become as the most valuable Brazilian company (6/30/2019). Cia Vale Do Rio Doce is the third largest company in Brazil followed by Banco Bradesco SA and Ambev SA.

Brazil’s Bovespa Index
For the past 50 years, Ibovespa has been considered as the benchmark index for the Brazilian equity market. The index consists of around 60 companies that are listed on the B3. The index represents around 80% of the total value of the Brazilian stock market.
