Dividend Yields by Sector/Industry (U.S. Large Cap)

The table below lists the current and historical dividend yields by sector, calculated using the 500 largest U.S. companies. At the moment (3/31/2020), Energy companies are providing clearly the highest dividend yield (7.92%) among the GICS Sectors. This very high dividend yield is mostly due to the sharp decrease in share prices of the Energy companies during March. Also Consumer Staples, Financials, Real Estate and Utilities sectors are providing a yield over 3%.
