Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version. The pages on this site are static and do not require an account. We collect as little as we can: analytics about how the site is used, the email address of anyone who subscribes or contacts us, and the request logs the API needs in order to enforce plan limits. We do not sell personal data and we do not run advertising.
Who is responsible
Siblis Research Ltd, Helsinki, Finland, is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete your data, email support@siblisresearch.com.
What we collect, and why
When you browse the site. We use Plausible Analytics to count page visits. It records the page requested, where you arrived from, and coarse technical information such as browser type, device type and country. This tells us which pages are read and which are not, which is how we decide what to build next.
Plausible stores nothing on your device and nothing that identifies you. It sets no cookies, it does not use any other form of device storage, and it does not assign you an identifier that follows you between visits or between sites. Your IP address is used momentarily to work out which country the visit came from and to tell one visit from another within a single day; it is never stored, and the value that makes that possible is discarded every day. Nothing collected can be traced back to a person, by us or by anyone else.
Plausible Insights OÜ is the processor, and all data is stored on servers inside the European Union. Their own privacy policy is at plausible.io/privacy.
When you subscribe. Your name, email address and company where you give one. Subscriptions are taken through our payment provider at sowl.co: card details are entered on their system and never reach ours. We receive the information needed to create your account, issue an API key, invoice you and provide support.
When you use the API. Each request is logged against the API key that made it — the endpoint, the timestamp and the response status. This is what enforces the daily rate limit and lets us investigate a problem when you report one. Logs are not used for anything else.
When you email us. Whatever you put in the email, kept for as long as it takes to deal with the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to it.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all. Not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything else. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels and no third-party ad networks, and nothing is written to your browser's storage.
That is also why you were not asked to agree to anything when you arrived. Consent banners exist because most sites store something on your device; this one does not, so there is nothing to ask about.
Who else sees it
Only the providers we need to run the service: our payment provider (sowl.co), our analytics provider (Plausible), the hosting and content delivery platform, and our email provider. Each is bound by its own data protection terms. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is aggregate only and contains no personal data to retain. Account and billing records are kept for as long as the subscription is active and afterwards for the period required by Finnish accounting and tax law. API request logs are kept only as long as needed to enforce limits and investigate problems.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or the UK, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Email support@siblisresearch.com and we will act on it. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority; in Finland, that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version is published here and subscribers are told by email.
